What is now one of the most highly regarded toy companies in the world started with a young man named Ivar Bengtsson from the quiet Swedish town of Osby. In 1884 he and his wife started a humble family business with the ambition to make the best woodchip baskets the world has seen. "It's the handle that makes the basket" was Ivar's old mantra, and it's in that same spirit Brio build their toys today. Brio's mission isn't just to make toys that last generations of play, they believe in enriching lives, in childhood and beyond.
